GRANTS

This is a research grant aimed at revitalizing research on infectious diseases in Japan.
Innovative and challenging research associated with infectious diseases based on the concept of “One Health”, regardless of the type of pathogen, is eligible for grants. In addition to fundamental research, drug discovery research, clinical research, epidemiology, and public health etc., social science topics such as risk communication are also eligible for grants.
We also welcome applications from different research areas outside of just medical and pharmaceutical sciences.

AWARD

As the importance of infectious disease research is receiving increased attention due to issues such as antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and the outbreak and spread of COVID-19, there is an urgent need to develop young and upcoming research talent who can contribute to infectious disease prevention in clinical settings.
We have established the Young Challenger Award (YCA) Financial Support Program and support various activities against infectious diseases in clinical settings through its support for YCA, which recognize the activities of members of the following academic societies under the age of 40.

Purpose
The purpose of this foundation is to encourage research and other activities related to infectious diseases that pose a threat to humanity through financial support, thereby contributing to the advancement of academic research and the health and welfare of humanity.

To achieve this purpose, this foundation will carry out the following activities in Japan to combat infectious diseases that are a global issue:
  1. Awarding research grants related to infectious diseases
  2. Hosting and supporting research meetings and symposiums on infectious diseases
  3. Rewarding and supporting notable research achievements and activities related to infectious diseases
  4. Other activities necessary to achieve the foundation's purpose
